    What has happened to this group of 6L90 transmissions... 2015 Sierra 2500HD with transmission failure at 101,000 miles, no forewarning. Just threw P0741 code and that was it, lots of metal in the fluid and fluid had been changed in accordance with manufacturer's guidelines. Would like to see a class action suit... paid ~$6,000 for a remanufactured transmission... insisted that the rebuild included Sonnax parts.

    Transmission And ECM / AC failure 2014 Silverado. Had extended warranty and the dealership nor the extended warranty company or Chevy refuses to help fix it. GM told me cause it was almost 10 years old they cant help me and also the chevy dealership at 75,000 did a transmission flush then dealership told me either the ECM Or the other part of this chip is malfunction but itis too expensive to do both. They ordered the part I have the emails and them telling me to bring it in. So, when I get there they said someone misplaced the part they would have to reorder it. Then Hurricane Ian hit SW Florida. I go back they act like they have no idea what I am talking about. They even set me a video email of them do the ECM check. Here is the best part. I kept telling them about my ac failure I had the dashboard lite up like a Christmas tree. ABS ect. I have had so many issues. Then at around 110,000 miles transmission goes out have it towed to the shop. Only to find out the extended warranty company needed a letter head from the 75,000 mile oil change. Had a hard time getting that. But, I do finally get it. Send the proof in now the extended warranty company says they will not fix it because the chevy dealership when doing the transmission flush DID NOT change the FILTER........ My head spent a 360° about 1000 times. I then call the dealership and ask them did they change the filter for the transmission MY MANGER ADVISOR at the the dealership h I ONlY dealt with told m via phone call. GM DOES Not have to replace the transmission filter. That is not necessary. ........ I AM AT THIS POINT LIKE ARE YOU SERIOUS!!!!!!¡!😮 I then call GM corporate in Michigan. The extended warrant company said they wanted me to take my truck back to the my dealership????? Who would take the vehicle back to the shop when they half ass DO THERE job. Then always on the invoices it says at the bottom the things that the dealership recommends. The lady at GM told me. They would see what they could do. Or what could be done. To now take it back to a shop The lady says to me WELL, you know the truck is almost 10 years old. Now, stupid question if someone does an oil change on a vehicle do you change the filter???? are you not supposed to change??? I had a 100.00 deductible to do everything. Yet, because of the ECM (ECU) they choose to ignore or act like it never happened or they knew nothing about. I believe was the beginning of my nightmare. I know h At this have 80,000.00 i am sure so. What do I do. Here my truck sits in the driveway the truck it is paid off. I am now paying 350 a month for insurance. Or the State of Florida will suspend my driver's license. So, to pay I have STILL have To pay insurance, I CAN'T EVEN USE it. My truck. If I don't Smh, paid over 500 to get the AC fixed before finding out. No one will pay for the transmission. Should I go after Chevy Dealership or GM corporate????? Also, how do I became part of class action lawsuit ? Frustrated, pist, and cannot afford a lawyer. Sincerely, RJ DM me with any and all help......

    Not criticizing, but there is a plastic collar they use with shipping to help keep the form of the wax, that is supposed to be removed... it looked like you still had it installed...if you or anyone have experienced any leaks, it would be because the collar was not removed... if not removed, the wax cannot get pushed further into the drain hole to seal... that would result in why you did not feel that "flat"connection when you pushed down... the collar was preventing it...

    • @richardmurray1655
      @richardmurray1655 27 днів тому

      I'm not sure that is accurate. From the Danco Perfect Seal instructions: "Depending upon the height of the floor flange and the toilet horn, there may be instances when the toilet may not sit flush to the floor. In these situations, the black plastic ring that is inside the gray rubber casing of the Perfect Seal can be removed."

    Add 2012 chevy traverse to your list. 97k, first rear brake job and man, the rotors were stuck. After trying all the tricks, i used my 4 ton hydraulic ram wedged between the rear frame and rotor. Driver side took a bit but broke loose. The passenger side, wow. It was amazing how much pressure it took to break it loose.

    just curious if this also includes the 6L90. We have been reading alot lately about them since our 2017 GMC 2500 with 54,000 miles is currently at the dealer for a new transmission and $5700 later. We are currently on vacation towing our 5th wheel in Canada when truck went into limp mode. Had to pull over on side of the 2 lane road. No signs, warnings or sounds of tranny going out except check engine light came on and then Limp mode. Limped into an RV park south of Calgary on a Friday at 5pm. Had to wait until Monday to take it to the dealer only to hear we need a new transmission. Not what you want to hear ever, especially on vacation. Should be finished within a few days. lost 5 days in Banff and are stuck at the RV park. We had it flushed/serviced 8 months ago at 49,000 miles. If this includes 6L90, we are interested.

    2018 Silverado 1500 6l80 torque converter failure at 64022 miles. I owned this truck since 6500 miles. I brought it in dealership at 44k miles because it felt like something was going on when it was shifting. They said they wont look at it unless I do the 45k maintenance on it. I wasn't aware of this so I looked it up. Crazy you have to maintenance this at 45K miles and again at 88k miles. So at 45k I replaced the Transmission filter, fluid, Transfer case fluid, and both front and rear diff fluid. Seemed to drive a little better. At 64022 without warning I lost all my gears. I couldn't go forward or reverse. No check engine light at any time. I got it towed home and dropped the pan. It was full of metal. Tried to get GM assistance and they said they will pay 20% of the cost to replace it with a remanufactured transmission. My 80% was $6800. I called another dealership to see if they had a reman 6l80. They had 22 of them in stock. cost me $3800. I replaced it myself. I will get on any lawsuit for this.

    Well, bought my 2017 GMC Sierra SLT premium with 28,000 miles on it. I didn't use it as a daily driver. I use it to pull jet skis, boats etc. Love the truck, but last week it stated this jerking hard shifting in first and second. i thought maybe the trailer mode was getting stuck. drove it a few more days. Didn't feel right. So too it to my transmission guy. He confirmed the tq converter and transmission needs to be rebuilt. I went for the extra to beef it up per his guidance. This is BS. I'm tired of this "pay more for crap!" mentality these days. I'm about to just get an older truck and restore it. gotta be cheaper then a new one! and last longer

    I have a 2015 Gmc Sierra 1500 4.3 with the 6L80 and it has 166,000 on it and i think im beginning to see converter failure. I looked at all the symptoms and its hard to tell if it actually is converter shudder. Any specific points or things to look out for? My temps are perfectly fine, im not seeing rpm surges while driving, I do have vibration at 40-55 but I cant recreate it for the life of me so im starting to think its the road.
